Jordan Minor and
Malik Edmead both scored 16 points in the men's basketball defeat on Tuesday night against Brown University. Minor also added six steals, four blocks and four rebounds to his stat line.
Ziggy Reid chipped in with nine points in the loss.

- Minor got the Warrior offense rolling with a smooth cut in the lane and finished with a dunk. Merrimack found themselves down 12 seven minutes into the game. Mikey Watkins scored on a scoop layup to cut the lead to 10. The Bears then went on a 9-0 to go up by 19. Reid scored three points in a row to drop the advantage to 16. After two points for Brown, Edmead scored to keep the lead stuck at 16. More then three minutes went by with nobody able to find the bottom of the net. Brown then jumped on an 8-0 run to increase its lead to 24. The Warriors finished the half on an 8-0 run, capped off with a monster slam by Minor after a perfect pass by Watkins. Merrimack went into the locker room down 16.
- A free throw by Reid to start the second half cut the Bears lead to 15. Brown quickly answered with a three the next time down the floor. Minor scored after running the floor to decrease the lead by two. Brown then went on a 7-0 to swell the advantage to 23. Reid found the bottom of the net from deep to make it a 23-point deficit. Mykel Derring knocked down his only three of the game to get the Brown lead to 19 with just under 14 minutes to play. Edmead matched a three a little over a minute later to put Merrimack down 20. With five minutes to play the Bears bubbled the advantage to 28 and ended up winning the game by 20 after a good final two minutes for Merrimack, which included four points from Edmead and a three from James Berry III.
Notes and Numbers
- Minor had a career-high six steals in the loss on Tuesday night.
- Berry III is now shooting 55% from long range, after going 5-9 so far this season.
- In the last four games, Minor is shooting lights out from the line. He is 26-28, which is good enough for 92% from the charity stripe.
