NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The brace from
Frantz Pierrot, first from a penalty shot, then in double overtime, led the Merrimack College men's soccer team to a 2-1 Northeast Conference victory over Saint Francis Brooklyn on Monday at Martone-Mejail Field in the team's season opener.

The Summary
- The Terriers struck first with the only tally of the first half. Dennis Coke had the service in on the corner kick for Saint Francis with a ball to the top of the box that was sent back in from a high kick by Ramchwy Saint Vil, with Nicolas Molina getting under it for a header in the 37th minute.
- In the 34th minute, Saint Francis' El Mahdi Youssoufi was whistled for his second yellow and sent off, leaving the Terriers with 10 men for the rest of the game.
- Merrimack's equalizer came in the 70th minute, Pierrot was hauled down in the box, earning a penalty kick for the Warriors. With two grand stutter-steps, he finished low for his first of the season.
- Despite the constant pressure in the offensive zone for Merrimack, the game rolled into double overtime. In the 102nd minute, the Warriors' corner kick was sent in by Sean O'Neill and pinballed around in the feet of the offensive attack before it was nudged over by Pierrot for the golden goal.
