Men's Cross Country Opens Season at Nassaney Invitational

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Merrimack College men's cross country team kicked off their 2021 campaign Saturday morning at Bryant University for the Shawn Nassaney Invitational. 

 

The Warriors finished the race with two top 30 finishes by Ryan Dyer (16th) and TJ Corliss (21st).

 

This meet was against nine other opponents including, Brown, Northeastern, Rhode Island, Wagner, Bryant, Hartford, Holy Cross, Assumption, and RIC.

What They Said:

Head coach Chris Cameron: "We had a decent showing today and we know what we need to do going forward to get better. "

 

How It Happened:

  • A trio of Warriors also claimed top-40 times in the 126-man field. Newcomer Ryan Dyer crossed the line in 15:38.0 for sixteenth-place. Senior TJ Corllis was twenty-first with a time of 15:45.9 and finally sophomore Billy Coakley finished with a time of 16:06.2 which was good enough for thirty-second place.
     

  • Overall the Warriors finished with a team placement of sixth place out of ten.

Up Next

Merrimack will travel to New Britain, Connecticut on September 25th for the Ted Owens Invitational, hosted by Central Connecticut University.
