NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Merrimack men's soccer worked a late road victory at UMass Lowell for the first win of the season on Tuesday night.

The Summary
- The first half was scoreless, as Alvaro Rodriguez turned four saves, while Frantz Pierrot posted a shot on target for the Warriors. Merrimack's defense was key, defending against three corners and forcing UMass Lowell offsides three times.
- In the second half, both teams posted three shots on goal each, as the Warriors made strong offensive opportunities from four corner kicks.
- Merrimack's winning goal came on a hard-working effort by Stefano Pesenti. After a corner kick sailed wide, Lowell squared up for a goal kick to re-set the play. The goalkeeper quickly passed the ball to a defender at the top of the 18-yard box, where Pesenti's lightning attack to the ball caught the goalkeeper off-kilter for a low right finish.
