WORCESTER, Mass. – The Merrimack College women's volleyball team fell in straight sets to the Austin Peay Governors in the opening contest of the Harvard Invitational on Friday.

Set Breakdown:
- After Austin Peay worked to take an early set lead to open the match, Merrimack responded with a 6-4 stretch to close the gap. Kills by Brooke Leestma and Kayla Zinser made it a 16-9 match, but the Governors rallied to take the set.
- Merrimack continued to pressure in the second set despite the score imbalance, with a massive attack error forced on a block by Brooke Leestma and Taylor Vatanian to cap a three point swing for the Warriors.
- In the third, Merrimack pushed for a 6-5 lead to kick off the set with aplomb. A mid-set block by Maegland Hladick and Kayla Zinser put the Warriors within a point once again, before a seven point Governors swing closed out the contest.
