North Andover, Mass. – The Merrimack College field hockey team celebrated senior day and earned a victory over Sacred Heart University on Sunday afternoon.
Katelyn Bennett scored the game winner after a penalty corner.
Abby Allen had the other goal for the Warriors in the victory.

- Allen fired a shot a little over a minute into the game that missed wide. Merrimack goalkeeper Isabelle Gardiner had one first quarter save. Three minutes into the second quarter Bennett and Erica Spallone had shots saved by the Pioneers goalkeeper. Allen had a shot in the 21st minute that was saved. Both teams went into halftime without a goal. Less than a minute into the third period, Allen scored the first goal of the afternoon. 12 minutes later Sacred Heart responded with a goal of their own to head into the fourth quarter tied. With less than a minute to play, the Warriors earned a penalty corner. Bennett found a hole and shot the ball and as she was falling found the back of the net, giving Merrimack the win.
