Men's Tennis Drop Matchup with Southern New Hampshire

HOOKSETT, N.H. – The Merrimack College men's tennis team took on Southern New Hampshire University in their third game of the fall season. In a match that came down to the wire for a third straight week, the Warriors just didn't have enough to get it done as they fell 4-3.

  • This contest started in the doubles bracket where the Warriors couldn't find a way to secure a victory in any of the three matches from the opening. In doubles #1, junior captain Aryaan Bhatia and sophomore Henrik Lindeman, weren't able to win their matchup, as they fell by a final tally 0-6. In doubles #3, sophomore, Charles Robertson, and senior captain, Pedro De Godoy Mancini, followed up their teammates in the second game but sadly couldn't capture the victory as the Ravens took the second match with a score of 4-6. In doubles #2 seen sophomore, Valentin Riveros and graduate student Andre Singer pair up to earn the first points of the day, but was sadly defeated by a score of 3-6 to bring the match score to 1-0
  • In singles play, Robertson played in the first match for the Warriors as they looked to bounce back after the result in doubles. Unfortunately, though, Robertson dropped this one by scores of 3-6 and 2-6. In singles #2, Lindeman took on a tough matchup against Fernando Torres as the game ended in the Warriors taking the point with scores being 8-6 in set 1 and 6-3 in set 2. In singles #5, Riveros, started and ending his matchup in an impressive performance, avenging his doubles game winning 6-3 in set 1 and 7-5 in the second set. Mancini wasn't able to secure a victory in his matchup, falling both sets by scores of 3-6 in the first and 2-6 in the second set. In #1 singles, Bhatia fought in a hard battle against Jonathan Berling in a 3 set series. Bhatia started off strong with a 6-3 victory in the first set but Berling was able to secure the second set with a score of 5-7. The final set, it was Bhatia who was able to break through for the victory as he won his final set 6-3. Singer, who finished in the last match, was not victorious as he lost both sets by scores of 3-6 in the first set and 4-6 in the second. In the end, Southern N.H University won the game 3-4.
