Easton, Mass. – The Merrimack College field hockey team lost in a shootout to Stonehill College on Friday afternoon. The score was tied 1-1 after four quarters and headed to overtime. Neither team could find the back of the net so the game went to a shootout. The Skyhawks scored giving them the win.
Abby Allen had the lone goal for the Warriors in the defeat.

- After neither team getting a shot on goal in the first quarter, Autumn Bartush fired a shot that was saved by the Skyhawk goalkeeper. Allen then had back-to-back shots on goal, both saved by the goalkeeper. Lauren Burke then had a shot which was turned away. She also had a shot as time was winding down in the first half. Stonehill scored the first goal of the game 25 seconds into the fourth quarter. Allen then scored her second goal of the season to tie the game, eventually sending it to overtime. Katelyn Bennett fired a shot wide in the first overtime period. Warrior goalkeeper Paige Degeorge had two saves in the period to keep the game tied at one. Allen had three shots on goal in the second overtime period, all saved by the goalkeeper. Stonehill scored twice in the shootout, earning them the win.
