HANOVER, N.H. – The Merrimack College women's basketball team suffered a heartbreaking loss in the final seconds on Wednesday night to Dartmouth College, 68-65.
Marissa Hamilton scored a career-high 20 points and was two rebounds away from a double-double with eight.
Kaylee Thomas also had a career-high 19 points, she also had five rebounds.
Jayme DeCesare chipped I with eight points, all in the fourth quarter.

- The first four possessions of the game started the same for both teams, both scored a two followed by a three to tie the game at five. The Big Green went up by five with just over six minutes to play in the first quarter. A Thomas three tied the game at 12 about a minute later. Amaya Staton hit a jumper to put Merrimack up by two. After a Dartmouth jumper, the Warriors went on a six point run, going up six. The Big Green scored the last four points of the quarter to head into the second down one. Dartmouth found themselves up by one early in the second quarter. The Warriors then scored four points to go back up three. The Big Green scored 12 of the last 10 points of the half, which sent them into the locker room up by six.
- Dartmouth opened the third quarter on a four-point run, putting them up by 10. Hamilton stopped the run with a jumper. Thomas drove the lane and scored on a layup, putting Merrimack down by seven. Both teams battle back and forth. Alana Fursman hit a three to put the Warriors down five with a minute and a half to play in the third quarter. Four points by the Big Green at the end of the quarter made the deficit 10 heading into the fourth. The Dartmouth lead was 14 point with seven minutes left in the game. Hamilton then scored five straight points to cut the lead to nine. Thomas hit a jumper to make the advantage seven. A DeCesare three with two thirty to play cut it to four. Thomas hit two free throws to go down by just one possession. The Big Green hit two free throws to go back up four. DeCesare responded with a jumper. Dartmouth answered back with a jumper of their own. On the next offensive possession DeCesare drove the lane and threw up a wild shot that back home, she was fouled on the play, she knocked down the free throw putting the Warriors down one. A free throw by Dartmouth made their lead two again. Thomas hit a jumper with 17 seconds left to tie the game. The Big Green then knocked down a shot with five seconds left to win the game.
