NORTH ANDOVER, MASS –
Marissa Hamilton and
Jayme DeCesare both scored 20 points in the Warriors loss to the University of New Hampshire on Wednesday night. DeCesare was one rebound away from a double-double with nine rebounds. She also knocked down six threes and went a perfect two-for-two from the line. Hamilton hit nine shots from the field, including two shots from deep in the loss.

- Both teams traded threes to start the game. The Wildcats then went on a four-point run to go up by four. DeCesare hit a three to push the lead down to one. New Hampshire hit a three to go up four once again. At the end of the first, the Wildcats were up by seven. A three with seven minutes to play in the second quarter by Kaylee Thomas brought the lead down to one. DeCesare hit her second three of the night to tie the game at 19 with four minutes to go in the first half. The score was tied at 23 heading into halftime.
- At the start of the second half, both teams battled back and forth. With five minutes to play in the third quarter Hamilton scored on a layup to put Merrimack up three. DeCesare then followed up with a three to put the Warriors up six. Two free throws by the guard gave Merrimack its biggest lead of the game at eight. The Wildcats battled back to tie the game at 42. After scores by both teams the score was tied at 44 heading into the fourth quarter. After watching New Hampshire go up by three, DeCesare answered with a three to tie the game at 47. The Wildcats went up by six with six minutes to play. A Hamilton three cut it down to three with just over three minutes to play in the game. With 21 seconds left in the game Hamilton hit a three to put Merrimack down two. After two Wildcat free throws, New Hampshire was up four. DeCesare hit her sixth three of the night to put the Warriors down just one. Two free throws by the Wildcats at the end of the game won the game for New Hampshire by three.
