The Merrimack Warriors women's hockey team were unable to avoid the sweep as they were defeated by the Providence College Friars by a score of 4-1 at the Schneider Arena.

The Warriors fell behind only 88 seconds into the game as the Friars jumped on the board.
Emma Gorski made nine saves in the opening period, as the Warriors were down one after one.

In the second period, the Warriors were able to successfully kill off three power plays, but were unable to cash in on their sole power play of the game. The score did not change from 1-0 heading into the final period.

Providence extended the lead to three with two quick goals to open up the third period.
The Warriors were able to get on the board exactly nine minutes into the third, as Madison Oelkers picked off a wayward pass and snapped it home to cut the lead to two.
Providence would re-extend the lead to three less than three minutes later to put the game out of reach.

Madison Oelkers scored her third goal of the season.
Raice Szott led the team in blocks with three.
 Emma Gorski was outstanding in net as she made 38 saves in the loss.
