EMMITSBURG, MD. – The Merrimack College men's basketball battled against Mount St. Mary's but came up short, losing 69-53. Maryland native,
Ziggy Reid scored a game-high 16 points after knocking down five shots, including two from deep. Reid also went 4-5 from the free throw line.
Malik Edmead added eight points for the Warriors in the loss.
Nick Filchner tied his career-high in point with eight off of the bench.
Jordan Minor had six points and 14 rebounds in the defeat.

- A jumper by Jordan McKoy started the Warrior scoring out of the gate. Reid followed up with a three-point play to send Merrimack up three early on in the first half. McKoy found the bottom of the net on his first three of the game to put the Warriors up four with 14 minutes to play in the first. The Mount tied the game up on a layup as the game headed into the first media timeout. Mikey Watkins and Reid scored five straight points to give the Warriors their biggest lead of the first half. Reid then knocked down two free throws to go up seven with eight and a half minutes to go until halftime. After a Mount St. Mary's bucket, Minor posted up a defender and scored two points. The Mount then added nine points to flip the game and go up by two. Edmead tied the game on a runner with two minutes and twenty seconds in the first. Mount St. Mary's went on another run and went into the locker room up five.
- Edmead went to the line for two and knocked down both to get the deficit back to five after to Mount St. Mary's bucket. After a Mount three the lead turned to 13 after a seven-point run. Both teams started to trade baskets. The Warriors cut the lead to 10 four times in a five-minute span. An Edmead jumper got the Mount St. Mary's advantage to eight with just over 11 minutes to go in the game. The Mount kept the Warriors at bay for a good duration of the second half for the most part matching their baskets. Filchner had a jumper find the bottom of the net and got fouled in the process to put Merrimack down nine with three minutes to play in the game. The Warriors could not produce a comeback in the final minutes and ended up losing the game by 16.
