LOWELL, Mass. – The Merrimack College men's hockey team could not come back from an early deficit Saturday night at Tsongas Center, as UMass Lowell knocked off the Warriors 7-2 in the Hockey East tournament quarterfinal round.

A stretch of three goals in the middle of the second period was too much in the end, as Merrimack could not recover. Logan Drevitch scored late in the first to make it 2-1 at the time and Alex Jefferies added a third period power play goal to cap the scoring.
