TRUMBULL, Conn. – The Merrimack College men's tennis team traveled to Fairfield University to take on the Stags on Saturday afternoon. The Warriors started things out well in doubles, but in the end, Fairfield took this one 6-1.
The Warriors got a break out performance from freshman,
Charles Robertson, who was placed in #5 singles. The newcomer scratched and clawed his way throughout the match before coming away with the lone point for Merrimack.

- In doubles the Warriors took a step back against the Stags. The lone win in doubles competition came from sophomore, Aryaan Bhatia, and senior, Jonathan Garcia. The duo went back and forth with the Stags as the set found itself at a 2-2 deadlock. After that they didn't look back though as they won back-to-back points getting the set to 5-3 before the Stags could not finish the match giving the Warriors the match win.
- In singles, Robertson came ready to play for Merrimack when he took the court at singles #5. In the first set he got out to a hot start winning the first point, then both Robertson and his opponent couldn't separate from one another as the set ended up being tied at 5-5. Robertson then dug deep and won back-to-back points to capture the first set. The second set didn't go the way the freshman had hoped as the Stags took it 6-3, setting up an important third set. In the third set, there was no margin for error and Robertson rose to the occasion winning the set and the point for the Warriors.
