LOWELL, MASS. – The Merrimack College baseball team suffered a loss Wednesday afternoon to University of Massachusetts Lowell 9-8. Michael Golankiewicz sent a two-run home run for his fifth of the season. Alex Haba had three hits in the game, he also scored three times. Stadnicki also had two hits on three at bats. Jack Collins hurled a scoreless fourth inning in the defeat.

- In the bottom of the first the River Hawks scored the first run of the game on a sac fly to center. UMass Lowell added three more runs in the bottom of the second, one off a hit batter and another two on a single single to center. In the third Stadnicki singled with one down. Stephen Santarpia then drew a walk after Stadnicki was picked off at first. Haba then singled down the left field line to put runners on first and second. Pinch hitter Christian Gemelli doubled down the right field line scoring both runners and cutting the lead down to three. A single up the middle in the bottom of the third increased the lead to four. Stadnicki earned his second hit of the game and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Haba singled and advanced the runner to third. Gemelli then launched a sac fly to center to score Stadnicki from third. Golankiewicz then stepped to the plate and then ripped his fifth home run of the season to cut the River Hawks lead to just one. UMass Lowell got two more runs in the bottom of the fifth go back up three.
- Ben Nelson singled in the sixth, but failed to get past first base. UMass Lowell scored one run in the sixth on an error by the third basemen, taking a four run lead. Haba singled with one out in the in the seventh to get a comeback going for the Warriors. Gemelli then walked to put runners on first and second. Golankiewicz stayed hot and doubled to left center for an RBI. Braydon Dolbashian walked and at the same time Gemelli scored on a wild pitch cutting the lead to two. Thomas Crowley launched a sac fly to center, scoring the runner from third, cutting it to one. The Warriors could not get anything going in the bottom of the ninth and lost the game by one run.
