NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack softball team fell in a challenging contest to close the three game series with Saint Francis on the road Friday afternoon.

Scoring Plays
  • Saint Francis scored half of their runs in the first inning of the game, notching six runs on five hits including a triple and double.
  • The Warriors were active in the top of the second, responded to the offense from the Red Flash. Ellen Hubbard sailed her second home run of the season to straightaway center to put a run on the board for Merrimack. Madison Cerpa followed her work with a single to left and advanced on a grounder in the infield. Sydney Emerson worked a walk to put two on, but the Warriors were held off with two outs.
  • The hosts put another run on the board in the second with another pair of runs coming in the third on a grounder with a runner on third and a home run to left center. In the fourth, Saint Francis added three runs on four hits, with back-to-back singles bringing in a run before a home run to left put a dozen on the board for the Red Flash.
