Scoring Plays
  • Boston College got on the board early in the first inning, churning singles and walks aboard for four runs on three hits. Katelyn Thompson came in to work a ground ball to end the inning with the bases loaded in the inning.
  • Merrimack worked runners on in the bottom of the second, with Madison Cerpa sending a two-out single to get on before Sofia Palyan worked a walk to put two on. Courtney Lanpher skied a doubled to left field in the bottom of the third to give the offense some juice. Sarah Reisler worked a close play at first on a grounder to third that advanced Lanpher before a strikeout closed the window for the offense.
  • The Eagles worked a leadoff single in the top of the fourth before three runs were tacked on for the visitors.
  • In the bottom of the sixth, the Warriors battled to get runners on base. Sydney Emerson was hit by a pitch in the leadoff spot, giving a quick baserunner to get things going. Jenna Wike sent a grounder to third, reaching on the fielder's choice as Emerson was nabbed on the force play. Rookie Haley VanLaar pinch ran for Wike and advanced on a single to left by Ellen Hubbard. Sydney Shimkus put the ball in play in the infield as she reached on the short out at third to get VanLaar as the lead runner. A fly ball looked promising to bring in runs, before the Eagles stepped up to snag the final out of the inning.
