ANDOVER, MASS. – The Merrimack College baseball team competed the sweep of Fairleigh Dickinson University on Sunday afternoon. Warrior starter Cedric Gillette produced his best performance of the season, going eight and two thirds, allowing just five hits and no runs, while striking out five. The Warriors scored just two runs in the game. Michael Golankiewicz hit his eighth bomb of the season in the second inning.

- The first hit of the afternoon did not happen until the bottom of the second inning. Gillette rolled through innings one and two. Golankiewicz homered to center getting the Warriors on the board. Kurtis Stadnicki reached on an error followed by an Andrew Selima, putting two runners on. Both were left on base after a fielder's choice. Gillette let up back-to-back singles in the top of the third, but got out of the inning without giving up a run. In the fourth, Gillette struck out two batters to keep the Warriors advantage at one.
- The Merrimack starter got the Knights to go down in order in the fifth. In the sixth he let up a lead off single, followed by a double, putting two runners on. He got the next batter to fly out, getting the Warriors out of trouble once again. Scott Elliott drew a walk. Braydon Dolbashian then doubled to left with one outs in the bottom half of the sixth. A wild pitch scored Elliott from third, increasing the lead by one. Needing a shutdown inning in the seventh, Gillette got Fairleigh Dickinson to go down in order. In the bottom of the eighth, Alex Haba singled after Ben Nelson reached on an error, putting two runners on. Christian Gemelli walked to load the bases. The Warriors would leave three runners on base. Gillette allowed two runners to get on base in the top of the ninth. Timmy Kalantzakos came in and got the one out save, his sixth of the season.
