Rapid Recap (Game Two)
  • The second inning offensive outburst was all the Warriors needed to ensure victory. Sofia Palyan again sailed a leadoff double. Catherine Kingman battled at the plate for a walk, before Olivia Crowley earned her free base on a walk to load the bases.
  • With three aboard, Danielle Carmody walked to score the first run before Catherine Kingman came in on a wild pitch. Nicole Koshes then walked to re-load the bases and force a pitching change for the Blue Devils. As the top of the order came up, Courtney Lanpher worked a walk to score the third run of the inning.
  • Continuing in the second with no outs, Sarah Reisler doubled to score Koshes and Carmody and bring Lanpher over to third. A ground ball in the infield scored Lanpher and advance Reisler to third before Ellen Hubbard's dunk single scored Reisler to make it seven runs in the inning.
  • In the bottom of the third, Central Connecticut scored to try to make a dent in the Merrimack lead sending a three run home run to get on the board.
  • The Warriors offense came up once again in the fourth. Lanpher and Reisler worked back-to-back singles, with Jenna Wike locking in to work a walk to load the bases. Ellen Hubbard singled to right to advance the runners on the base and bring in Lanpher to score. Catherine Kingman singled to right to score Reisler, with Crowley working a single to score Wike to put ten on the board for Merrimack.
