NORTH ANDOVER MASS- The Merrimack College Warriors men's soccer team snapped their two game winless streak with a complete effort resulting in a 2-0 victory over the University Of Massachusetts- Lowell Saturday afternoon at Martone-Mejail Field.

- Merrimack got off to a flyer of a start, as an early free kick put them in position to put the ball in the final third and after a hard foul in the box, the official awarded the penalty less than two minutes into the game.
- With the ball on the spot Merrimack's Johan Feilscher sent the keeper the wrong way, for his second goal of the season and he put Merrimack in the lead.Â
- As the game slow down as both teams tried to figure out how to break one another down, the game became as much of a battle between the two teams and with the unseasonably warm conditions that neared down on the pitch.
- With about six minutes left in the game Feilscher again forced another save from UMass Lowell goaltender Jacob Heishel, on the ensuing corner kick, Trym Kyvaag floated in a beautiful attempt and Feilscher rose highest to head the ball home for his second goal of the game and putting Merrimack up 2-0 with five minutes to go.Â
- A great goal was followed by an even greater celebration as Feilscher celebrated with a with a backflip.
- Merrimack and their goalkeeper Alvaro Rodriguez picked up their second clean sheet of the season, as Rodriguez stopped all five UMass Lowell shots on target, including making several diving stops to keep the opponent off the scoreboard.Â

UP NEXT
The Warriors head on the road to play Stony Brook University on Tuesday before their first of three straight home games beginning next Saturday September 17th.
