Score: Harvard 28, Merrimack 21
Records: Merrimack (1-2, 0-0 NEC) | Harvard (1-0, 0-0 Ivy)

How It Happened
  • Merrimack won the toss and deferred. The Warriors forced a punt on the Crimson first possession. Harvard returned the favor and made Merrimack punt on their first possession on the offensive side of the ball. Both teams traded punts back and forth for the duration of the first quarter. Merrimack ended the first quarter with the ball and they were in the process of marching down the field. Just over three minutes into the second quarter Jack Zergiotis connected with Carter for a five-yard touchdown pass, to give the Warriors the lead. The catch in the end zone was Carter's second of the season. The Crimson added a touchdown on a quarterback keeper, tying the game at seven. Both teams headed into the locker room with seven points.
  • The second half started with a Rosemond Jr. interception, his third in three games. The Warriors could not score on their next offensive possession. The Crimson took over with the game still tied at seven. Rosemond Jr. then had yet another pick. His fourth of the season. On the very next play after the interception, Zergiotis connected with Carter for the second time of the game. The extra point was missed so Merrimack went up by six. With the Warriors up six, Hayden Fisher was hit on a fade to the end zone, scoring and after a two-point conversion putting the Warriors up 14. Harvard came storming back, scoring the last 21 points of the game to take the win in overtime.
