NORTH ANDOVER MASS- Merrimack's men's soccer team picked up their first win in conference play in 2022, as two goals in the final 30 minutes was enough to defeat the Saint Francis Red Flashes on a cloudy but dry Saturday afternoon at Martone-Mejail Field.

- Despite neither team being able to find the net in the first half there were plenty of chances on both sides, Min Jun Jang attempt at the 4 minute mark was stopped in close, and then at 9:14 Carlo Romei's headed effort went just past the post.
- Just past the hour mark, Merrimack grabbed the lead after some fantastic individual play from #11 Johan Feilscher down the left side, he picked out a wide open Juri Schlingmann, who put it past the helpless keeper to put Merrimack on top.
- Merrimack found their second goal after a fantastic pass from Alessandro Negri, who found Feilscher who had a great run through the middle staying onside and beating the goalkeeper in the one on one situation.
- Down two, Alvaro Rodriguez made his best save of the game right the 80th minute mark, as he stretched out to make a fantastic diving save to his right to maintain the score.
- With only one more shot after that Merrimack was able to control possession and the game clock and capture their first win of NEC play this season
Players of note:
- Schlingmann scored his 4th goal of the season
- Feilscher scored his 5th goal, his fourth in six games, and added an assist on the first goal
- Negri assisted living on his 3rd goal of the year
- Rodriguez made 8 saves as he picked up his fourth clean sheet of the season
