BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Merrimack College men's basketball team won its fourth Northeast Conference game of the season on Sunday afternoon over St. Francis Brooklyn, 63-55.
Jordan Minor was the leading scorer for the Warriors after dropping 14 points, he also grabbed four rebounds.
Javon Bennett stuffed the stat sheet after scoring 13 points, dishing out five assists and stealing the ball four times. Both
Jordan Derkack and
Ziggy Reid finished with 12 points in the victory.

- Bennett and Devon Savage combined for a five-point run to start the game. Both teams then went back and forth for a number of minutes. The Terriers cut the lead down to one with 12 minutes to play in the first half. St. Francis Brooklyn then took the lead by four. Minor stopped their scoring run with a layup. With seven minutes to play the Terriers were up by seven. Bennett then hit a three to cut it to four. After a three by St. Francis Brooklyn, Merrimack went on a nine-point run capped off by a Jordan McKoy three. The Warriors took back the lead by two. With three minutes to go until halftime the score was tied at 25. A free throw by Reid at the end of the half gave Merrimack a three point advantage going into halftime.
- After losing the lead briefly at the start of the second half, the Warriors went on a 10-point run to go up by nine points. Bennett sunk a three to put Merrimack up by 10 with just under 14 minutes to play. The Terriers went on an eight-point run to get the advantage down to a one possession game. Bennett then hit another three to send the Warriors back up by five. A three by McKoy with four minutes to play put Merrimack up nine. Good free throw shooting at the end of the game would give the Warriors an eight point win.
Notes and Numbers
- The Warriors forced 23 Terrier turnovers, which is the most they have had in Northeast Conference play. Merrimack scored 26 points off the turnovers.
- Derkack finished the game with a team-high five steals.
- Merrimack scored 30 points in the paint.
