Tempe, A.Z.—The Merrimack Warriors Men's hockey team was swept by the Arizona State Sun Devils by a score of 4-2 on Saturday night.
The first period played out similarly to the one the night before, as it was scoreless through one.
Merrimack got on the board first, following a scramble in front it was
Mark Hillier who had the final shot and finished nicely to put the Warriors in front for the first time this season.
Arizona State would tie the game shortly thereafter but it would be a nice net drive by
Filip Forsmark which would set up a rebound that
Matt Copponi would fire home to put Merrimack back on top heading into the final regulation period.
In the third, the Sun Devils would tie the game on the powerplay, and the call would stand following a review, and Arizona State would score the winning goal with 43 seconds left and add the empty netter 20 seconds later.
