The first half of this matchup saw no scoring from both sides with limited opportunities. Each team was held scoreless for the first 45 minutes due to some outstanding defense on both ends.
The action ramped up in a big way in the second half where each team was able to have a handful of opportunities. The first score of the game came by Merrimack's
Molly Murnane at the 78 minute mark to give the Warriors the lead. All looked well and Merrimack seemed like a win was certain as the game ticked down. It was in the 89th minute that St. Francis (PA) had the equalizer and sunk the chances of Merrimack securing a road NEC win.
