Field Hockey Downed in NEC Matchup at Wagner

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.– The Merrimack College field hockey team lost a Northeast Conference matchup to Wagner College on Friday afternoon, 3-2.

The Basics
Score: Wagner 3, Merrimack 2
Records: Wagner (1-9), Merrimack (0-11)

How It Happened
With under a minute to play in the first quarter the Seahawks found the back of the net to take a one goal advantage. Wagner would strike first in the second quarter to go up by two. With a  minute and a half to go before halftime, Autumn Bartush scored for the Warriors to send them into halftime down by just one. The Seahawks would regain a two score lead early on in the third quarter. Chloe Agopian would score with just under six minute to play in the third quarter, putting Merrimack down by a goal. Bartush would have the assist on the goal. Agopian would have a shot in the fourth that was saved by the Wagner goalkeeper. With three minute to go in the game Julie Wester fired a shot wide. The Warriors would lose the game by one.  
 
Notes and Numbers
Brooke Bolduc had four saves in the loss.
Wester and Agopian tied for the team lead in shots with three.

The Warriors get back to action on Sunday at Long Island University. Game time is set for noon.
