North Andover, M.A.—The Merrimack Warriors made it four points in Hockey East play in four games as they tied it late and got the 2-2 tie, falling in the shootout to the College of the Holy Cross Crusaders on Friday night at Lawler Arena.
The Basics
Merrimack (4-8-2, 1-6-2): 2 (0), Northeastern Huskies (3-5-2, 2-2-2): 2 (2)
Merrimack would score first as
Emma Pfeffer would clean up the mess in front and knock the puck in for her first collegiate goal for the Warriors.
Calli Hogarth would make eight saves in the first period.
Holy Cross would find the equalizer late in the second period, as they would score a scramble in front of the net after a shot from the point. Holy Cross would take the lead in the third period on a tipped shot from the blue line.
Merrimack however would find another late goal to push the game past regulation as
Sophie McKinley would score with less than five minutes to go.
Neither team would score in the overtime, and the Crusaders would score twice in the shootout to take the extra point.
