SOMERSET, N.J. – The Merrimack College men's soccer team was recognized by the NEC this afternoon as three players were named to the All-Conference teams.
All-NEC First Team: Laurie Goddard
Goddard, a sophomore from London England had a stellar year for the Warriors scoring a team high ten goals and had three assists for a total of 23 points. He also scored two hat tricks in three games against Howard and Stonehill respectively. He was also named as the NEC Player of the Week on three separate occasions this year.
All-NEC Second Team:
Johan Feilscher
Feilscher, a Graduate Student midfielder from Bad Bramstedt, Germany, played in all 16 games for the Warriors, recorded 17 shots on goal, scoring four times and picked up three assists. This is Feilscher's second appearance on an all-NEC team as he was named to the conference's first team the previous season.
All-NEC Rookie Team:
Herman Rugland
Rugland, a freshman from Bryne, Norway, played in 13 games for the Warriors this season making 11 starts,he scored his first collegiate goal for Merrimack in the team's final regular season home game against Central Connecticut State to help the Warriors reach the playoffs, he also assisted on two goals.
