Boston, M.A.— The Merrimack Men's Hockey Team was swept in the series by the Boston University Terriers falling by a score of 5-2 on Saturday night.
The Basics
Merrimack (6-8-1, 2-6-1): 2, Boston University (11-4-1, 7-1-1): 5
The Terriers scored almost immediately in the first period as the initial shot wide was turned in only 27 seconds into the contest.
Just after returning to full strength Merrimack would get a goal from Ethan Bono, recording his second straight game, evening things up at one.
After the Warriors were given a five on three advantage, Alex Jefferies scored to take the lead in the process 2-1. Zach Borgiel made nine saves in the first period including a stunning glove save with two minutes to go in the first to take the game into the first intermission.
In the second period, the Warriors would be picked up by a strong effort by Zachary Borgiel who made 14 saves as the Warriors successfully killed off three penalties to take their one goal lead into the third period.
The Terriers tied the game just over two minutes into the third period and would take the lead on a shorthanded goal five minutes later. Boston University would score twice more in the final three and a half minutes to close out the contest.
