NORTH ANDOVER, MASS. – The Merrimack College men's basketball team beat Felician University on Saturday night in Lawler Arena 89-85. The Warriors were led in scoring by
Adam "Budd" Clark who had 15 points.
Jordan Derkack added 13 points, nine assists, and seven rebounds in the victory.
Samba Diallo and
Devon Savage both finished the game with 12 points.

- The Golden Falcons got off to a quick start, scoring the games first six points. Two free throws by Savage and a layup by Derkack would stop the run. Savage would later knock down a three to put Merrimack down by one. Both teams would battle back and forth. With 13 minutes to go in the first half, Derkack would hit a three to put the Warriors up by one. Clark would convert on a layup to send the lead up to three. With 10 minutes left in the half, Bryan Etumnu would find a lane for a dunk to put Merrimack on top by four. Felician would battle back to go up by one. The Warriors would come back later on in the half. Jacob O'Connell would score on a layup to put Merrimack up five with five to play. Later on in the half, Jaylen Stinson would find the bottom of the net with a three to give the Warriors their biggest lead of the game at six. The Golden Falcons would get the advantage down to two. Merrimack with closed out the half on a six-point run to head into halftime up by eight.
- Felician opened the second half with a seven-point run to go down by one. Clark would stop the run with a jumper. After some back and forth play the game was tied at 47 with 16 minutes to play. Diallo would hit a jumper to put the Warriors up by two. The Golden Falcons would score on their next offensive possession to tie the game at 51. Merrimack then went on a five-point run to go up two possessions. After a Felician three with eight minutes to play the game became tied again at 64. Diallo hit a three to push the Warrior lead back up to three. After a Golden Falcon jumper, Jordan McKoy hit back-to-back threes to give Merrimack a seven-point advantage. A jumper later on Diallo would increase the advantage to nine. Felician battled back, cutting the lead to four with four minutes left on the clock. McKoy then knocked down another three, pushing the lead back up to seven. With a minute to play the Golden Falcons got the lead down to one possession. O'Connell then had back-to-back dunks on two straight offensive possessions to make it a four-point lead. Good free throw shooting down the stretch gave Merrimack a four-point win.
Notes and Numbers
- Merrimack shot a season-best 62% from the field.
- Stinson filled the stat sheet after scoring seven points, grabbing five rebounds, and dishing out six assists.
- The Warriors forced 14 Golden Falcon turnovers. They scored 17 points off the turnovers.
