Women's Basketball Jumps Past Fisher, Monday

NORTH ANDOVER, MASS. – The Merrimack College women's basketball beat Fisher College for its 10th win of the season. Marissa Hamilton scored 13 points and had five rebounds. Kaylee Thomas was the only other Warrior to score double figures with 10.

  • Both teams traded threes to start the game. Merrimack then added 11 points to go up by 11. The lead was cut to eight. Lydia Melashenko knocked down a three to put the Warriors back up 11. The first quarter ended with a Ava Owens layup to make the lead 21. The teams battled for the first few minutes of the second quarter. Fisher did not let the lead get high then 21. Merrimack then added eight straight points to go up 29. Two scores from the Flacons made it a 25 points lead. Antoinette Okoh scored towards the end of the quarter to put the Warriors up 27 heading into halftime. An Alana Fursman three with just under three minutes to play in the third quarter swelled the lead up to 42 points. Sidni Wise-Wright knocked down a jumper at the end of the third quarter to keep the advantage at 42 points. The Warriors would continue to play well, winning the game by 49 points.

  • Merrimack forced 20 Fisher turnovers.
  • The Warriors had 60 rebounds in the victory.
  • Every player on Merrimack scored at least two points.
