NORTH ANDOVER, MASS. – The Merrimack College men's basketball team pulled off a 70-66 victory over Saint Francis University (PA) on Saturday afternoon.
Ziggy Reid became the 48th player in program history to score 1,000 career points. Reid finished the game with a season-high 22 points after going 7-9 from the field and 4-5 from deep.
Javon Bennett had his first 20-point game of his Warrior career in the win. The freshman point guard finished with six field goals, including three threes.
Jordan Minor had 18 points and eight rebounds in the win.

- After a Red Flash score, Bennett added five straight points to put Merrimack up three. After a Saint Francis score, Reid hit his first three of the afternoon to put the Warriors up two. Devon Savage and Reid hit threes on back-to-back offensive possessions with a Red Flash score in between to go up by four. Reid then added four more points to his total to send Merrimack up eight. Saint Francis battled back cutting the lead down to four. Minor ended the run with a dunk. The Red Flash then tied the game at 20. Bennett knocked down a jumper with a little under six minutes to play. Jaylen Stinson and Bennett then added five points to make the lead eight once again. After back and forth play for the rest of the first half, the Warriors headed into halftime up five.
- The lead was instantly cut to one possession after a Saint Francis three. After both teams scored a number of times, the Red Flash made the lead three. Merrimack then went on a five point run to make the lead eight for the third time in the game. A three-point play from Minor swelled the lead to 11 with 13 minutes to play. Reid knocked down a three later in the half to give the Warriors its biggest lead of the afternoon at 13. A Minor dunk made it 14 points with nine minutes to play. Saint Francis then added seven points to cut the lead down to nine. A Bennett jumper stopped then run. Another six points from the Red Flash turned the advantage to just five. With a minute to play the Warrior lead was now two. Good free throw shooting from Stinson gave Merrimack a four point win.
