Men's Hockey Set To Face UMass Lowell Tomorrow in the Hockey East Semifinal

North Andover Mass. —The Merrimack College Men's Hockey team are set to play their first home playoff semifinal game since 2011 on Friday, March 17th as they take on the UMass Lowell River Hawks at 7:00 PM at TD Garden.

The Merrimack men's hockey team were marathon men last week as they emerged victorious in double overtime, winning by a score of 1-0, eliminating the Boston College Eagles for the Hockey East Playoff and in the process have moved on the Hockey East playoff semifinals for the first time since 2011.They will look to extend their six-game winning streak and move to the finals which will be held at the TD Garden in Boston on Saturday, March 18 at 7:30pm. The second-place Hockey East regular season finish is a program best. The Warriors are currently ranked 14th in both the USA Hockey and USCHO national polls. Also this week,  Alex Jefferies and Hugo Ollas were named to the Hockey East All-Star Teams, announced by the league office on Friday.

The Warriors hold the season series with Lowell, including a 5-3 victory over the River Hawks at Tsongas Center on February 24 and a 2-0 victory on February 25 at home in Lawler Arena. For more information on the Warriors, check out the game notes at the link above.

The game can be seen live on NESN and on ESPN+. Unable to watch live? Our own John Leahy and Mike Machnik will be live from the Garden with their call which can be heard at the link above.
