Softball Battles With Dartmouth

Hanover, N.H.-- The Merrimack Softball team battled hard but fell short against the Dartmouth Big Green by a score of 5-2 in their first of five game road trip on Wednesday afternoon.

The game was scoreless through the first three innings but the Big Green got on the board first with a two run fourth inning. Dartmouth scored three more runs in the next two innings to hold a five run lead heading into the final inning. The Warriors however refused to give in as after a leadoff single and walk, Madison Cerpa would double home Thiana Brito and Courtney Lanpher to cut the lead to three. The Warriors were able to bring the tying run to the plate, but the game ended with a strikeout.

• Bry Michitson started the game and pitched three scoreless innings.
• Caity Lemay, Madison Cerpa and Ellen Hubbard had the hits for Merrimack.
