Rapid Recap
Right around this time last year this Warriors team went on an unthinkable run and it all started with a conference win. Can the Warriors turn it around again after a win over CCSU? The first quarter was a battle between the two. The two teams were knotted up at 14 a piece to end the first. The second quarter was tight as well. Central Connecticut would pull in front with a seven nothing run and would end the first half up a pair of scores at 30-26.
The third quarter was all Warriors. Merrimack would go on a 21-4 run to push their lead to 13 points. The strong play of Jayme DeCesare and Thalia Shepard up top along with a monster performance inside from Madison Roman. Merrimack would go into the final frame up 50-38. The last quarter was all about maintaining their lead. That's exactly what they would do. Behind the veteran leadership of their point guard, CCSU was never given an inch or let back into the ball game. Merrimack would end up grabbing their first NEC win with a convincing 71-53 victory.
