Madison, W.I.—The Merrimack Warriors Women's Hockey team battled hard but were defeated by the Wisconsin Badgers by a score of 6-1 on Friday night.
The Basics
Merrimack (6-11-2, 3-8-2): 1, Wisconsin (15-4-0, 10-4-0): 6
Merrimack were able to take the lead just over 10 minutes into the contest as
Ally Qualley tipped in the original shot by
Sophie McKinley, but the Badgers were able to tie the game just 12 seconds later.
Calli Hogarth made 15 saves in the first period as the first period ended tied.
In the second period,
Calli Hogarth made 14 saves but Wisconsin scored twice, to carry a two-goal lead into the final regulation period.
Wisconsin would score three times in the final four minutes to close out the contest.
