POUGHKEEPSIE, NY– The Merrimack College women's volleyball team extended their dominance in New York with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over the Marist College Red Foxes.

How It Happened
The Warriors opened the match with an impressive run to capture a 9-5 advantage and would go on to hammer nine straight points to double their lead. The Warriors continued to dominate in the first set with a 5-1 run to take the set 25-11. In the second set the Red Foxes got on the board first however, the Warriors responded with three straight points to even the playing field. Merrimack's 8-1 run mid-set gave the Warriors an 11-7 advantage but the Red Foxes reclaimed the lead with 21 points, ultimately winning the second set 26-24. The Red Foxes would follow up their second set victory with a third set win, 25-19.
Three kills and a service ace from
Mckenna Shotwell led the Warriors to a 4-0 advantage in the beginning of the fourth set. Merrimack capitalized off several attack errors on the Red Foxes' side to extend its advantage, 10-4. Marist was unable to find its footing, as a powerful 7-2 run sealed the deal for a Warrior win, 25-16. The fifth and final set of the match began in Red Fox territory however, the Merrimack fought back, with kills from
Julz Carlat and
Marissa Kobelski to keep the Warriors within striking distance. Later in the set, the tandem struck again to secure the win for the Warriors, 15-13.

- Julz Carlat led the way for the Warriors with 18.5 pts and 16 kills
- Mckenna Shotwell notched 13 kills and 11 digs for a double-double
- Marissa Kobelski also reached double digit kills with 12
- Lilly Konrad recorded a season-high 29 assists
