Women's Hockey Blitzes Past Lindenwood

North Andover, Mass.- The Merrimack College women's ice hockey team scored in all three periods as they blitzed past the Lindenwood University Lions by a score of 5-1 on Friday night.

Merrimack (3-3-0, 2-2-0): 5, Lindenwood (0-6-1): 1

Merrimack took the lead early with Alex Ferguson firing in the game's first goal just past the four minute mark, and they would nabbed their second ten minutes later as Michaela Littlewood jumped on the puck in the blue paint to score her first ever Merrimack goal to carry the lead into the first intermission.

In the second period, Lindenwood would score their only goal of the night to cut the lead in half, but the Warriors would re-establish their two goal lead as Hayley Chang's shot found it's way through with four minutes to go.

In the third Maria Lindberg placed a shot in the top corner just past the halfway mark before Rachel Bjorgan added one more goal after intercepting the outlet pass and slotted the puck in for the Warriors' fifth and final goal of the night.
