FAIRFIELD, CT – The Merrimack College women's volleyball team came up short in Fairfield Connecticut, falling to the Sacred Heart University Pioneers in three sets.

How It Happened
The Pioneers won the first five points of the set and then doubled their lead to make it 10-5. The Warriors would look to close the gap and managed to hold the pioneers to a three point lead but the Pioneers regained their footing and would win the set, 25-15. The second set began neck and neck with both teams trading points. The Pioneers would continue to battle fiercely and would extend a 20-11 lead over the Warriors which Merrimack could not come back from. The Pioneers would win the second set 25-18. In the third set, the Pioneers would score first and capitalize on the Warriors offensive errors to go up 11-3. The Warriors showed perseverance, securing five straight points, beginning with a Kill from
Morgan Thurlow. However, the pioneers had a different agenda and went on to win the third set, 25-19.
