Boston, MA.-- The Merrimack College men's ice hockey team had the lead through the first 40 minutes of play but four third period goals by Boston University powered them past Merrimack by a score of
6-3 on Friday night.
Merrimack (3-7-1, 2-4-1): 3, Boston University (6-5-1, 3-2-1): 6
The Terriers took the early lead, just under 90 seconds into the contest. Merrimack quickly counter punched as
Ivan Zivlak's blue line toss found the net to tie the game 32 seconds later. The Warriors snagged the lead just past the halfway mark as
Michael Citara snapped a shot home from in close.
In the second, Boston University would tie the score at 2-2, just two and a half minutes in. Merrimack retook the lead ten minutes later as
Caden Cranston fired the puck in after his line forced the turnover behind the Terrier net.
In the third period, Boston University would score four times to capture the victory.
