AMHERST, MA – The Merrimack College men's lacrosse team fell in their second straight road game, this time to the Minutemen of UMass.

The Warriors were looking to play spoiler in Amherst as they wanted to rebound from their loss to LIU last Saturday. However, it was nowhere close to the start the Warriors had envisioned. They were unable to put up any scores in the first quarter and the Minutemen went for six tallies. Merrimack would head into the second quarter down 6-0. They were finally able to break their scoring seal but it was UMass quickly responding as there would be only two goals scored in the entirety of the second quarter. The halftime break would hit with Merrimack trailing 7-1.
The third quarter was once again all Minutemen as they added to their lead. They would go on to score five goals. It wasn't until under the four minute mark of the third quarter that the Warriors would score their first goal of the second half. MC would limp into the fourth quarter down double digits at 12-2. The fourth quarter was back and forth scoring on both sides as UMass added 5 goals and Merrimack scored 4 of their own as the in-state battle would end by a score of 17-6.
