Football Adds Kreinsen As Wide Receivers Coach

NORTH ANDOVER, MASS – On Wednesday afternoon the Merrimack College football team named Joe Kreinsen as its Wide Receiver Coach. Kreinsen was previously at Thomas More University as the run game coordinator and offensive line coach.

Before heading to Thomas More, Kreinsen was the assistant head coach and offensive coordinator at Lake Erie College. He led Lake Erie to its best season as a Division II program during the 2021 season. Prior to Lake Erie, Kreinsen was an offensive graduate assistant at the University of Pittsburg during the 2019 season. The Natick, Mass native also spent three seasons at the University of Massachusetts Amherst as a graduate assistant and assistant director of football operations.  

As a player, Kreinsen was a four-year starter on the offensive line at Westfield State. He was the 2014 recipient of the DeOrmond Tuss McLaughry Award which is presented annually to the outstanding college football scholar-athlete in Western Massachusetts. We was the second Westfield State player in 40 years to win the award.

Kreinsen earned his bachelor's degree in psychology from Westfield State in 2014. He also has a master's degree in labor studies from UMass.
