NORTH ANDOVER, MASS- Merrimack Athletics is excited to announce the 2024 Merrimack College football schedule highlighted by games against Football Bowl Subdivision programs (FBS) the United States Air Force Academy and the University of Connecticut. The Warriors will play a robust 11-game schedule as an independent Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) team.
"We are excited to play two nationally recognized FBS programs to start our season", said Vice President and Director of Athletics Jeremy Gibson. "We have then positioned ourselves to play some of the premier FCS institutions in the Northeast. An independent schedule like this will only benefit Merrimack football in the long run."
The Warriors kicked off the season against the United State Air Force Academy on August 31 in Colorado Springs, CO. The following week, Merrimack will head down to East Hartford to take on the University of Connecticut. The Warriors will then take on Bucknell University on September 14 in Lewisburg, PA. The Warriors home opener will be on September 21 at Duane Stadium against the University of Maine. The matchup with the Black Bears will be the first Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) opponent to ever take on Merrimack.
Homecoming weekend at Merrimack is highlighted by a matchup with Dartmouth College on September 28. The Warriors then head back on the road for a game against Morgan State on October 12 in Baltimore, MD. Merrimack then comes home for two games. The first against former instate conference foe Stonehill College on October 19. The Warriors then take on the Raiders of Colgate University on October 26.
Merrimack will play Robert Morris University on November 2 on the road in Moontownship, PA. The Warriors split the final two games of the season. On November 16, Merrimack will play host to fellow FCS independent Sacred Heart University. The squad caps off the season with a matchup down in New York with Fordham University on November 23.
