Providence, R.I.—Merrimack Softball picked up the weekend series victory against the Brown University Bears, winning by a score of 2-0 off the backs of a two run home run by
Madison Cerpa and a complete game shutout by
Madie Fornwalt.
After going scoreless in the first four innings,
Madison Cerpa smacked a two run home run over the left field wall to score the only runs of the game.
With Brown threatening to tie the game in the bottom of the seventh, the Warriors turned two on the double play and then also with the tying run at the plate, Fornwalt picked up the complete game with a fly out to
Ellen Hubbard.
