North Andover, M.A.—Merrimack Softball began their home schedule with a high scoring 8-6 loss to the Le Moyne Dolphins on a cold Thursday afternoon.
Le Moyne scored the opening run in the second, but Merrimack would tie the game back up in the third when
Ellen Hubbard hit a sacrifice fly scoring
Madi Gibeault. Merrimack would snag the lead in the fifth after an RBI double from
Madison Cerpa scored Hubbard and Cerpa would score on an error. The Dolphins however would the game with two runs in the sixth inning, sending the game to extra innings.
In the ninth, Le Moyne would plate five runs to take a 8-3 lead. The Warriors would attempt to comeback as
Courtney Lanpher would plate two runs with a two run triple to left field and
Madeline Arvai would add another with an RBI single, but despite bringing the tying run to the plate, Merrimack was unable to cash in as the game came to an end.
