Greensboro, N.C.—Merrimack Softball were stumped in both games against the University of Maryland Baltimore-County Retrievers by scores of 4-3 and 4-0 on Saturday afternoon.
Game 1: After only allowing one hit through the first four innings, Merrimack got on the board first in the fifth as
Sofia Palyan homered to left center and Merrimack would score a second run as
Alex Miller would score on an error.
UMBC would score twice in the sixth to send the contest to extra innings, where
Ellen Hubbard would knock home an RBI double in the eighth but the Retrievers would score twice in the bottom half to win the game.

Game 2:
UMBC scored first in game two with a two run double, and would extend the lead in the second inning with an RBI single. The Retrievers would score the game's final run in the fourth inning.
