Rapid Recap
Merrimack would be without their usual Friday starter in Andrew Heffernan as Casey Hegan took the reins on the mound. Hegan did steady work through the first inning and would be given some massive insurance from his team's bats. The Warriors would strike for seven first inning runs including two homers, one of which would be a grand slam from Christian Scanlon. Cavan Brady would supply the other homer with Alex Haba and Matthew Chatelle also driving in runs. Hegan would be able to work through four innings giving up four runs as the Warriors offense continued to give him help. In the fourth inning Dawson Bryce would crush a two run shot to make it 9-2 at the time. Merrimack would go into the fifth inning up 10-2 but the Skyhawks turned on the jets. They would score five runs in the next two innings including back to back to back solo homers in the sixth to make it a three run game. In the bottom of the sixth Merrimack gave their in-state rivals a little taste of their own medicine going for three homers from Haba then Ferrentino then Brady to balloon the lead to 15-7. Frankie Ferrentino's homer would mark the single season homerun record in Merrimack's history with 17. He would follow that up with a two run blast in the seventh inning to add to his total. Merrimack would go on to take game one of the series 17-10.
