Women's Soccer Can't Get Past Iona

New Rochelle, N.Y.-   The Merrimack College Warriors women's soccer team couldn't get passed the Iona Gaels, dropping a 3-1 score on Saturday afternoon.

  • Iona took the lead first, scoring off of a corner kick in the 13th minute of play, before doubling their lead 17 minutes later as they would take that advantage into the halftime break.
 
  • Merrimack would get a lifeline after winning and converting a penalty that was taken by Ella Cormier, but Iona would re-add the insurance goal with 10 minutes left to close the contest.

 
 
Notes and Numbers:
  • Ella Cormier's goal was her second of the season, she also had a team high five shots on goal.
  • Lily Morgan made two saves.
