Jersey City, N.J. – The Merrimack College men's basketball team held Saint Peter's University to just 10 second half point on their way to a 11-point victory on Thursday night in Jersey City.
Adam "Budd" Clark was the only player on the floor that scored in double figures, finishing the game with 18 points.
Matt Becht added nine points in the victory for the Warriors.

- The Peacocks opened the game scoring the first seven points of the game. Clark found a lane for two to stop the early run. After a Saint Peter's three, Armandas Plintauskas found the bottom of the net with a three of his own to cut the lead down to five. With eight minutes to play in the first half, the Peacocks found themselves up by 15. After two scores from both teams, Saint Peter's then went up 17 with seven minutes to play until halftime. The Warriors then went on a 12-point run to cut the lead down to five with three minutes left in the half. The run was highlighted by a Devon Savage three and four points from Clark. Clark added a layup to make it a one-possession game. Merrimack headed into halftime down by three.
- The Warriors opened the half with a lob thrown by Clark and caught by Bryan Etumnu for a two-handed slam. The dunk brought Merrimack within one early in the second half. The Peacocks would get a dunk of their own to go back up three. With just under 13 minutes to play in the game, Malik Edmead drove the lane for two, tying the game at 31. A minute later, Edmead knocked down a mid-range jumper to give the Warriors their first lead of the night by two. Clark then hit a three to push the lead to five. Saint Peter's answered with a jumper, getting the advantage back down to one possession. Merrimack then went on a 12-point run, highlighted by two threes from Becht. A three from the Peacocks stopped the run with two and a half minutes left in the game. The Warriors would let up only one more point in the final two and a half minutes of the game, winning by 11.
Notes and Numbers
- Sean Trumper led the Warriors in rebounding with eight in the win.
- The Warriors forced 16 Peacock turnovers.
- Merrimack let up just 37 points in the victory. The mark is the lowest amount of points let up by a Warrior team since at least the 1987-88 season.
