Rapid Recap
The Warriors were looking for a bounce back win coming off of a hard-fought loss to Fairfield last Saturday. They would continue a brutal stretch of schedule with the hottest team in the MAAC in Mount St. Mary's who came into the game having won five straight. Early on the two teams were neck and neck. Buckets kept getting traded back and forth as the Mount went into the break up 15-13. In the second quarter, Mount St. Mary's jumped out to a sizeable double-digit lead but Merrimack was able to combat that with some runs of their own and not let the game get out of hand. At the half the Mountaineers led by 12.
In the second half, the Warriors contained the Mount's potent offense for the better part of the quarter. However, a quick surge to end the frame put Mount St. Mary's up by 18 entering the fourth quarter. In the final 10 minute's Merrimack was unable to string together enough scores or stops to make the comeback, losing on the road to Mount St. Mary's, 75-49.
